Padlet Unit Plan

Link: Padlet

I chose this topic because fitness is very important. It is even more important to understand how physical fitness affects the body. The heart in particular is a muscles that is always moving, day or night. Understanding how our actions enhance, or hurt the heart is imperative. This topic is very similar to the one I chose for interactivity three. Through Padlet I was able to expand on this very important topic and introduce new finding such as actual meanings that I did not incorporate in my coggle.

PE Central is a great source for all health and physical education teachers. I spoke of this site before. I love it! This site is where I was able to discover and expand on this topic. My unit goals and essential questions helped introduced the physiological effects of the body through activity. Everyone knows if you run you sweat, however, teaching students that there is a maximum rate they should work at is beneficial. Having the students analyze, identify and compare heart rate through different activities is not only educational, but fun.

I chose DDR and a heart rate monitor (fitbit or others) because they are so popular in our society. Using technology that is relevant will help enhance the lesson and keep students interested. I enjoyed using Padlet and I would use it in my classroom. It introduces a different approach to explaining or even introducing a topic that has a lot of different components.
